Reverb unit basis, the PCM 92 also includes filter effects, modulation, and delay. So far no significant difference compared to his sister PCM The connection is complete. So much for the analog connections. Namely the plethora of available parameters that will correctly understand before pushing programming. Everything is not a simple access, far from it. Each parameter can significantly affect a given program.
Here it is quite far from the concept of Tc Electronic M R for example. As for the PCM 96 , the 92 has the same routing system, which is perfectly consistent: -1 "Stereo" the left and right input signals are routed to a single virtual machine. The left and right signals are treated separately. The final signal is in stereo. Each machine is assigned to one of the input channels.
Two stereo output signals are mixed and the final signal is output in stereo. And takes exactly the architecture of four VMs his eldest.. This is extremely convenient. Lexicon forces, although the "Machine and System" to configure the PCM 92 in the work environment is logical and well organized section, there are too many features and capabilities, all accessible with a small number of orders to consider in a first time to operate the machine without the user in to fumble and discover by chance sometimes unsuspected things that will have some trouble finding later..
In situ compared to the PCM 91 reverbs are a little thin without necessarily altering the tessitura of his legendary "Lexiconnien". Low frequencies are particularly in line and maintain a striking extent and rarely encountered in other manufacturers except in Bricasti for me.
Numerous preset can substitute endless possible variations. And since we are talking about preset, it contains already enough work calmly, without even bothering to search far and without needing too correct to make them usable.
Moreover, as in Tc Electronic is a real pleasure to see that this machine has been programmed by people more concerned with the final outcome of the possible impression on a bystander passing by.. The halls are really beautiful and the rooms are extremely versatile. With the algorithm "Platform" we find this little flicker so recognizable and inimitable characteristic of old bikes Lexicon and make for some, even their interests.
When I see posts like this it's very hard for me to believe that the people writing these statements have actually put the PCM96 or PCM92 directly up against the plug-ins. While the plug-ins sound absolutely fantastic, I can certainly hear a difference between the the software and the hardware.
Yes, it's mostly the same algorithms with minor differences but "identical" they are not. I hate my PCM Hate is a strong word and I hate it. No more Lexicon for me, ever. Bricasti FTW. Lexicon should give every single PCM96 user the plugin for free, or at least for a couple of hundred bucks. That way we could actually get multiple instantiations of the 96 that you are supposed to get with FW mode. It is hard not to feel ripped off buying a PCM96 at a time when it was not known that Lexicon would not have a driver for PC.
Michael Carnes. I understand your fraustration, hopefully it will be soon fixed and the idea of pcm 96 owners getting a free copy or heavily discounted version of the plug in would be on point.
Bricasti doesnt have firewire intergration so whats the point. Bricasti IMO sounds better. For the same price point yes vendors will sell them at the same price point.
So if I am going to drop 3k, and cannot get the FW, dual config I'll go Bricasti which is awesome and run it stereo analog off the console aux which I prefer. For me the FW, being able to run two stereo instantiations was the gravy that made the value for me , otherwise I would have purchased 2 - 92's.
Different strokes, different folks. Problem solved. Unfortunately[I'm with Joshua on this one] the hardware still sounds better. I compared over the weekend. I think I need to pop in here for a second, just so there are no misunderstandings. Our Windows support will be via the System Architect program.
This is a standalone program that's used to set up a lot of BSS, dbx and Crown gear, and functions as a remote front-panel with some additional goodies.
